Conference Theme: The theme of Eighth ICOQM is “Emerging Perspectives of Decision Making in a New Globalized World: Theory, Practice and Future Directions.” In today’s globalized world of business, any organization, small or big, needs to compete globally to survive and compete. Many firms however cannot compete successfully due to their inability to cope with the uncertainty, lack of knowledge and adequate information flow. They lack the skill of making use of information in the decision making process to overcome uncertainty. This is particularly true for the countries such as, China, India, Malaysia and Thailand, which are at the threshold or approaching the threshold. Firms in these countries are yet to realize how to utilize their information and to reinvigorate skills in decision making through innovative management techniques.
The purpose of ICOQM-VIII is to provide a forum that stimulates decision-making theories, practices and future directions in the context of the globalized world. The conference will also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration amongst scholars from academia, industry and government. In addition to papers on the conference theme, the scholars are also encouraged to submit papers on any aspect of management and business such as accounting, marketing, finance, OB, HRM, MIS, quantitative methods, operations, economics, entrepreneurship, etc. |
